On 03-11-2024, at approximately 8:13 pm, law enforcement was on patrol in the area of Penn Avenue North and 30th Avenue North, City of Minneapolis, County of Hennepin, State of Minnesota. Law enforcement observed a white BMW without no front license plate, a rear license plate (MN license plate number LBG757, and with illegal dark window tint. Law enforcement then initiated a traffic stop and encountered the driver, later identified as JEREMY AHMED BICKERSTAFF [DOB REDACTED], Defendant herein. Law enforcement smelled the fresh odor of burnt marijuana emitting from the vehicle and observed suspected marijuana on the floorboard of the vehicle.
Law enforcement instructed Defendant to get out of the vehicle and he complied. Law enforcement asked Defendant when was the last time he smoked marijuana in the vehicle and he replied “earlier.” Defendant also told law enforcement that there was a “sack”, referring to the marijuana, and that he would show it to law enforcement. Law enforcement searched the vehicle and located a firearm under the drive seat. Law enforcement also located baggies of presumptively positive marijuana, another separate bag containing presumptively positive marijuana, and two (2) digital scales.
The presumptively positive marijuana collectively weighed 14.48 grams. The firearm was identified as a.38 special Taurus Titanium, processed for forensic testing, and submitted for testing. Forensic testing revealed that Defendant matches a major male DNA contributor of the DNA that was located on the firearm. Defendant is prohibited from possessing firearms/ammo due to prior conviction for crimes of violence: 62- CR-22-4704: Threats of Violence - Reckless Disregard Risk – Conviction Date: 12-22-2023. Defendant is not in custody.
