On December 16, 2025, at approximately 7:09 P.M., police responded to an apartment at [ADDRESS REDACTED], Maplewood, Ramsey County, Minnesota. The caller reported that her son, AARON EDWARD DOBIE – [DOB REDACTED], was drinking and would not leave. Upon arrival, police spoke with the caller, SFD, who said DOBIE was drinking at her residence and left. Police located DOBIE in the parking lot behind the wheel of running vehicle. DOBIE’s driving privileges are cancelled as inimical to public safety. DOBIE appeared intoxicated with bloodshot watery eyes, had an odor of a consumed alcoholic beverage, and there was an open bottle of beer in the center console.
When police asked DOBIE for his name, he rolled up the window. An officer opened the door of the vehicle and told DOBIE to step out. DOBIE protested, and the officer noted that he was slurring his words. Police struggled to get DOBIE out of the car, but upon threat of being tased, DOBIE stopped resisting, and police were able to pull him out of the vehicle. The vehicle was a push start vehicle, and the keys were in DOBIE’s pocket. Police located an open bottle of tequila on the floorboard of the passenger seat.
While in transit to the Maplewood Police Department, DOBIE repeatedly asked for a lawyer, so no field sobriety tests were conducted. At the Police Department, an officer read DOBIE the breath test advisory. DOBIE was given time to contact an attorney. DOBIE refused to submit to a breath test. DOBIE has a previous conviction for felony DWI – Test Refusal in Hennepin County District Court File No. ••-CR-••-•••• on July 23, 2021, and felony DWI – Operate Motor Vehicle Under Influence of Alcohol in Hennepin County District Court File No. ••-CR-••-•••• on December 5, 2017.
