On March 13, 2026, Roseville police officers responded to Cub Foods, [ADDRESS REDACTED], Roseville, Ramsey County, on a robbery. Officers spoke to loss prevention employee, RDN, who stated that he saw a male, later identified as Monzea Kareem Gant, [DOB REDACTED], conceal multiple items of merchandise inside of his backpack. Gant passed all points of sale without paying for the items. RDN approached Gant to stop him and recover the items. Gant pulled out a taser and displayed it. He sparked the taser and said, “What are you going to do?
Call the police.” Gant left the store. Officers located Gant nearby and arrested him. He had $89.19 worth of Cub merchandise in his backpack. In a post-Miranda interview, Gant admitted that he knew the person who tried to stop him was a loss prevention employee. Security cameras captured the incident and showed Gant displaying a taser and pointing it at RDN.
