On January 13, 2026, the Rochester Police Department executed a search warrant at a residence in NW Rochester, Olmsted County, MN. Inside the residence, mail addressed to STEVEN BOUNKOA VOEUN [DOB REDACTED] was found in the West bedroom on the lower level. Inside the bedroom, detectives found a safe that contained 6 bags of suspected cocaine. Inside a jacket under the stairs, detectives found an additional bag of suspected cocaine. A large amount of cash was found in the jacket pocket, which also contained documented currency that the police department had previously used in controlled purchases of drugs.
The police department had previously conducted at least one controlled purchase of cocaine from Voeun. In total, 203.3 grams of presumptively positive cocaine and $7,627 of US currency was located. Detectives recognized the amount of cocaine to be far in excess of what a person would possess for personal use. The amount of cocaine, the large quantity of cash, and the fact that law enforcement had previously purchased controlled substances from Voeun indicate that he possessed the cocaine with the intent to sell it.
Voeun was previously convicted of Controlled Substance Crime in the Second Degree in ••-CR-••-••••. That sentence is set to expire on 1/14/2027. PLEASE TAKE NOTICE: YOU MUST APPEAR FOR EVERY COURT HEARING REGARDING THIS CASE. FAILURE TO APPEAR FOR COURT IS A CRIMINAL OFFENSE AND MAY RESULT IN ADDITIONAL CRIMINAL CHARGES BEING IMPOSED AND PUNISHED AS PROVIDED IN MINNESOTA STATUTES SECTION 609.49.
