On 4/17/2026, after extensive investigation, Minneapolis Police officers executed a search warrant at an apartment located on the 900 block of 12th Avenue SE in Minneapolis, Hennepin County, Minnesota. The subject of the investigation was LORENZO DITEZ MILLER JR ([DOB redacted]), Defendant herein, and his vehicle, a white Nissan Maxima. Defendant was arrested as he was coming out of the apartment building. Another male and a small child also came out of the apartment and detained. While searching the apartment, officers located a black Glock style gun box in the closet.
Officers also located a loose empty gun magazine with the gun box. Officers observed a photo taped to the wall in the closet with Defendant and his girlfriend holding multiple firearms. Officers also located a black gun grip sleeve on the bed. In the living room and kitchen area, officers located a black Glock handgun with extended magazine. The gun was in the open and not in a locked container within reach of the small child who lived in the apartment. Officers also searched Defendant’s vehicle and located a live round of 9mm ammunition on the front passenger side floor.
Defendant’s girlfriend arrived while the officers were executed the search. She told officers that she does not own nor possess a firearm but may have handled the handgun at some point. On 4/6/2026, officers received information regarding Defendant’s post on Instagram of himself with a black handgun and attached drum magazine in his pants. In a post Miranda statement, Defendant admitted that the Nissan was his but did not know about the round found in it. He also told officers he lived at the apartment with the mother of his child and his child.
Defendant also acknowledged the Instagram post but stated that it was only a prop or pallet gun. Defendant was convicted of felony assault 3 in 27-CR-24-4195 on 01/06/2025. Defendant is in custody.
