On March 19, 2026, law enforcement from the Moorhead Police Department executed a search warrant at a unit in the Willow Inn & Suites in Moorhead, Clay County, Minnesota. Two individuals were named in said search warrant. One of the individuals, A. A., had fled from the hotel room and entered a different room. Detective Huewe applied for and received a search warrant for the second hotel room as well. The second hotel room was rented by Payton Rae Dickelman, [DOB REDACTED], hereafter “Defendant.” As Detective Huewe was in the process of obtaining the search warrant for the second hotel room, Detective Desautel who was on scene, was informed that people were now leaving the second hotel room.
Det. Desautel located the individuals on the corner of 37th Avenue and 8th Street in Moorhead. Det. Desautel identified one of the individuals as the Defendant. The Defendant appeared to be under the influence of a controlled substance. Det. Desautel observed the Defendant to be unable to sit still, was moving her arms frantically, continued to walk forward and was stepping on Det. Desautel’s feet as she was moving around. The Defendant appeared frantic. Defendant informed law enforcement that A. A. Had fled from the hotel room through the window.
Det. Desautel informed the Defendant that law enforcement was submitting a search warrant for her hotel room. The Defendant shared that she had no drugs and had not even “shot one” today. Det. Desautel indicated that he did not believe her due to her behavior and demeanor. The Defendant reiterated she had not used narcotics and told Det. Desautel he could search the bags she had with her. Det. Desautel looked inside the bags and saw multiple needs, tie offs or torniquets, and located a small cloth black zipper bag.
Inside the black cloth baggie was a small clear zip style baggie with a measurable amount of a white crystalline substance. Also in the black bag was a folded tin foil with a measurable amount of white power which appeared to be fentanyl. Det. Desautel arrested the Defendant for possession of a controlled substance. The suspected controlled substances were handed over to Detective Huewe who field tested them. The white crystalline substance field tested positive for methamphetamine and weighed approximately 1gram.
The suspected fentanyl field tested positive for fentanyl and weighed approximately 1 gram with packaging. ### PLEASE TAKE NOTICE: Pursuant to Minn.
