On February 15, 2026, at 7:00 pm, Deputy Olufson with the Wright County Sherriff’s Department was traveling eastbound on Broadway Street West near the intersection of 7th Street East in the City of Monticello, in Wright County, Minnesota. Deputy Olufson observed a vehicle bearing MN license plate NTY598 pulling into the left side lane of traffic. The vehicle was observed to be drifting back and forth in the lane and touched the fog line. Deputy Olufson initiated a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, Sherri Lynn Munstenteiger [DOB REDACTED] hereinafter defendant.
Defendant stated she did not notice the swerving because she was crying because she had gotten into a fight with her mother. Deputy Olufson did not observe any tears around defendant’s eyes. Deputy Olufson observed defendant’s cheeks to be sunken and missing teeth. Defendant also had sharp movements. Defendant was asked to step out of the vehicle and defendant then became upset. Defendant repeatedly kept saying she doesn’t have anything on her. Defendant stated she last used controlled substances a year ago.
As the conversation continued, defendant became very nervous. Defendant admitted to having methamphetamine in her purse and stated the purse did not belong to her. Deputies located a metal box inside the pink purse and observed several used bubble pipes and spent needles. There was a clear zip top baggie containing white crystal substance that appeared to be methamphetamine. Inside the purse, Deputies observed defendant’s license and a Mastercard belonging to defendant. The lab results indicated the substance was methamphetamine, a schedule-II controlled substance and weighed approximately.025 grams.
Defendant has one prior fifth degree possession felony conviction under Court File No. 01-CR-15-224.
