On or about February 7, 2026 at approximately 3:53 A.M., an officer on routine patrol driving eastbound on Lowry Avenue in Robbinsdale, Hennepin County, Minnesota observed a white Buick SUV that appeared to not be displaying a rear license plate. The officer followed the Buick as it turned southbound on Penn Avenue. The officer activated his squad car’s emergency lights to initiate a traffic stop. The Buick continued driving down Penn Avenue. The officer turned on the squad car’s siren, but the Buick continued driving.
As the officer pursued the Buick, he saw that the Buick had a temporary tag, but it was partially obstructed from view. The Buick turned westbound on 30th Avenue North as the officer continued to follow with his squad car’s emergency lights and siren activated. A second officer also joined the pursuit in a separate squad car, with his emergency lights activated. The Buick turned northbound on Queen Avenue North, back eastbound on Lowry Avenue, and then back southbound on Penn Avenue North. While following the Buick, officers were able to see the temporary tag number and report it to dispatch.
Dispatch advised that there was a “Keep our Police Safe” (“KOPS”) alert for the Buick from a different fleeing incident originating from Minnesota State Patrol. Officers continued following the Buick, and the Buick accelerated until it reached speeds of approximately 50-60 MPH. After the Buick drove through multiple intersections, one officer following the Buick conducted a PIT maneuver. This caused the Buick to come to a stop. Officers approached the Buick and identified the driver as NAJANEE RENEE GRAY (“Defendant” herein). Through routine checks, officers learned that Defendant’s driver’s license was revoked at the time of the flee.
