On December 7, 2025, at 12:50 A.M., officers responded to a report of damage to property in progress at 425 S 7th St., Hyatt Place Minneapolis, in Hennepin County, Minnesota. Upon arrival, officers made contact with hotel security, who directed them to damage on the main level of the hotel. Officers observed significant damage to a revolving door and the adjacent window. The window next to the revolving door had a large hole near the bottom with extensive cracking, and numerous shards of glass were observed on the ground both inside and outside the entrance.
Officers also observed what appeared to be a bottle of alcohol on the ground near the revolving door. Security advised officers that she did not personally witness the incident but stated that the damage was captured on hotel security camera footage. Officers also spoke with front desk staff, who identified the suspect as Quinn Rhoten ([DOB REDACTED], hereinafter “Defendant”). Security advised that the Defendant appeared intoxicated and was acting aggressively. Staff further advised that the Defendant was staying in room 319 with family members.
Hotel staff requested that the Defendant be removed from the property and trespassed but had no issue with the remaining occupants staying in the room. Officers made contact with the Defendant and his father in room 319. The Defendant was observed lying on a couch. Officers advised the Defendant that he was being trespassed from the property. The Defendant became verbally aggressive and refused to answer questions or comply with lawful commands. Due to the Defendant’s level of intoxication, officers advised the Defendant’s father that the Defendant would be placed on a hold and transported to the hospital, as officers could not leave him outside in his current condition.
The Defendant’s father was informed that the Defendant would be taken to Hennepin County Medical Center. A repair invoice provided by the hotel reflects a total cost of $4,393.00 to repair the damaged revolving door frame, door glass, and the curved glass surrounding the revolving door. The Defendant is currently out of custody.
