On December 21, 2025, at approximately 6:52 P.M., Saint Paul Officers were dispatched to the 200 block of Dayton Avenue, Saint Paul, County of Ramsey, on a domestic assault. Dispatch advised CEB reported his wife-later identified as SHIRLEY ANNE JOHNSON, [DOB REDACTED]-assaulted him and tried to stab him. Officers arrived and went to the apartment. JOHNSON was standing by the doorway, and was detained. Officers made contact with CEB, who appeared intoxicated. CEB had scratches to his face that he said were caused by JOHNSON. CEB said he had been drinking with JOHNSON in one of the rooms.
He could not locate his wallet, gaming controller, and his phone. He asked JOHNSON if she saw his items. They argued and JOHNSON yelled at him. He exited the bedroom, went to a couch where he slept. He was asleep on the couch when JOHNSON entered the room and hit him three times in the face causing injury. JOHNSON picked up a folding knife-green and black- from the floor. She held the knife in her right hand, displayed it toward him, and said, “I’ll kill you.” JOHNSON threw the knife at his chest.
CEB ran out of the apartment and called 911. CEB requested medics, and they responded. JOHNSON said she got into a physical altercation with her husband, CEB. They argued because he took her cellphone. She tried to get her cellphone back, but CEB pushed her to the floor. He punched her in the head with a closed fist. JOHNSON denied assaulting CEB. JOHNSON did not have any visible injuries. A black pocketknife with a green handle was found on scene.
