On January 13, 2026, at approximately 4:31 P.M., police responded to a domestic call at [ADDRESS REDACTED], St. Paul, Ramsey County, Minnesota. The caller reported that his adult daughter just assaulted and bit him. A second call came in that the suspect was outside barefoot and screaming, “Help me!” Upon arrival, police located the suspect, AMANDA JOHANNA MATTSON – [DOB REDACTED], outside the residence. MATTSON was talking about many different topics and not making sense. MATTSON appeared heavily intoxicated and to be going through a mental health crisis.
MATTSON refused to talk about what happened earlier. Other officers spoke with the complainant, EJM, who reported that he is MATTSON’s father. EJM was on the phone with his other daughter, MMM, who had a video of the incident from the camera in the living room. MMM has the camera so she can watch over her mother, who has dementia. Through the phone, MMM showed police the video of MATTSON on her hands and knees near EJM after biting him. MATTSON yelled at EJM, “You’ll hitting me,” and EJM responded, “Yes, I did.
You’re biting me.” The officer observed that EJM had a round spot of blood on his left forearm where his skin was broken from the bite. MMM told police that MATTSON previously bit EJM on the hand, but it was not reported to police. After speaking with EJM, police took MATTSON into custody. MATTSON was not cooperative and struggled with police as they attempted to place her in handcuffs. Eventually, officers were able to get her in the squad car. Once in the vehicle, MATTSON began kicking at the door and window and yelling and swearing at officers.
Police repeatedly told MATTSON to stop kicking the window, but she continued. Officers heard a loud cracking sound, and saw that MATTSON broke the window divider on the back passenger side. Police removed MATTSON from the vehicle to place her in leg restraints, and again she was uncooperative and struggled with police. Eventually, they were able to get MATTSON in the back of the squad. An officer went back inside to get a more detailed statement. EJM reported that he, his wife (JMM), and their son (GBM) were downstairs when MATTSON called them upstairs in a “shrieky kind of voice.” They went upstairs, and MATTSON began speaking with GBM and told him that people on the internet were saying their family was racist.
After going back and forth with MATTSON, EJM said GBM left. EJM said he and JMM went into the back bedroom, and MATTSON was recording them on her phone and yelling that she was filming them so everyone knew what was going on. MMM told police that MATTSON recently accused EJM of being a “Nazi sympathizer.” EJM said he tried to photograph MATTSON and what she was doing, and it kept getting worse. EJM stated that MATTSON was on the chair while he and JMM were on the couch when MATTSON got on top of him and bit his arm.
