On February 23, 2026, officers responded to an anonymous 911 call from an apartment complex in the 1300 block of Dowling Avenue North in Minneapolis, Hennepin County, Minnesota. Dispatch could hear items breaking, a female yelling “stop," and a male yelling to “be quiet.” Upon arrival, officers observed the Victim [NAME REDACTED] from a third-floor apartment window. She was visibly distressed, crying, and had redness, bruising, and swelling around her neck and face. The Victim reported that her ex-boyfriend, DARRIAN AMIR BRYANT [DOB REDACTED], Defendant herein, had just assaulted her.
According to the Victim, she returned home and found the Defendant waiting at her door. He kicked the door open and forced his way inside. He immediately started punching her in the face and kicking her. He placed both hands around her throat and strangled her, restricting her ability to breathe until she lost consciousness. When she regained consciousness, the Defendant struck her on the head with a handgun. The Defendant also broke her phone to stop her from calling 911. After the assault, the Defendant told the Victim to "clean yourself up, you look dirty as hell” and left.
Due to the nature of the case and the Defendant’s violent criminal history, the State respectfully requests a warrant issue to protect public safety and ensure the Defendant’s appearance in court.
