On or about December 12, 2025, Minneapolis police observed a Honda CR-V on Milestone cameras in the area of 17th Street and Chicago Avenue in Minneapolis, Hennepin County, Minnesota. The Honda CR- V had Minnesota license plates LGN362, which registered to a Honda Passport and not a Honda CR-V. The day prior, a very similar Honda CR-V fled police in Minneapolis with license plates SLM195. It appears at this point, the license plate was changed to avoid detection. Minneapolis police observed a driver get out of the vehicle and stopped and arrested him.
He was eventually identified as ABDIRAHMAN ABDIRIZAK HERSI [DOB REDACTED], Defendant herein. Prior to being properly identified, Defendant did provide a different name to police that was a linked alias for him. Police confirmed the vehicle was in fact the vehicle that fled police and confirmed it was stolen. Defendant had the keys in the pocket. During the arrest, Defendant also had other property that was confirmed stolen in the call and on his person, including individuals' identities. The rearview mirror was ripped out, which is commonly done to avoid tracking abilities of GPS. Defendant was arrested and transported to the Hennepin County Jail.
While being booked into jail, deputies located a clear plastic baggie of crystal powder on the bottom of his foot under his sock that weighed approximately 0.48 grams and field tested positive for methamphetamine. Defendant has a prior Chapter 152 conviction in ••-CR-••-••••. Defendant is currently in custody for this offense and is currently on probation in Hennepin County for a similar crime.
