On April 13, 2025, at approximately 10:31 PM, Officers with the Anoka Police Department conducted a traffic stop in the 2500 block of 5th Avenue, City of Anoka, Anoka County, on a vehicle for failing to use its turn signal. Officer Petersen made contact with the driver, identified as Joshua Thomas Henning [DOB REDACTED], defendant hereinafter, and the passenger T. R. H. Officer Petersen observed a hypodermic needle laying on the floorboard next to defendant and requested defendant step out of vehicle.
Defendant exited the vehicle and a large clear plastic container fell from defendant’s lap onto the ground. Inside the container were three clear plastic baggies that contained a clear crystal-like substance, one baggie contained 50 round orange pills that were marked with 54 375, and a cylinder-shaped container that contained a tan crystal-like substance. The Midwest Regional Forensic Laboratory confirmed the substances in the three baggies were methamphetamine and weighed.828 grams, 3.161 grams, and.236 grams, and the substance in the cylinder was methamphetamine and weighed 2.686 grams.
Defendant has two prior convictions for 5th degree possession of controlled substance from Anoka County in February 2018 (02-CR-17-6312), and January 2015 (02-CR-13-8612).
