Your complainant is employed by the Columbia Heights Police Department. In that capacity, complainant has reviewed official reports filed and has learned substantially the following: On September 12, 2025, at approximately 8:09 A.M., Sgt. Farah was dispatched to the department lobby regarding a report of property damage at [ADDRESS REDACTED] NE, Columbia Heights, Anoka County, MN. The reporting party and property owner, TM, stated that earlier that morning, his caretaker discovered the front entry glass door of the building had been shattered.
TM reviewed surveillance footage and observed tenant Kayleigh Skye Zopfi, [DOB REDACTED], the Defendant herein, exiting [APT REDACTED] and kicking the glass door at approximately 3:22 A.M., causing it to break. TM advised he has ongoing problems with the Defendant including stealing from another tenant's mailbox. TM advised he has started the eviction process. Officers responded to the above address and made contact with Defendant at her apartment. Defendant exhibited erratic behavior and made nonsensical statements.
When the defendant was informed she was under arrest, she physically resisted by grabbing at the officers’ hands and attempting to kick one of them. Due to her continued resistance, officers executed a two-person takedown and applied a hobble restraint. The Defendant was subsequently transported to Unity Hospital under an emergency medical hold. TM provided surveillance video showing the Defendant kick and break the glass door and he also submitted a repair receipt for the door, totaling $888.03.
