At around 9:30 AM on March 27, 2026, officers were sent to Silver Oak Court Apartments at [ADDRESS REDACTED], New Brighton, Ramsey County on a domestic. MA wanted his son, YAHYA MAHAD ABDI [DOB REDACTED], removed from his apartment. Officers discovered Abdi had a warrant for his arrest for failing to appear at a pretrial hearing on gross misdemeanor 911 interference and domestic assault charges involving his mother in Hennepin County District Court file 27-CR-26-1975. Officers found MA and Abdi arguing in the parking lot.
MA explained that Abdi had been staying with him for the past few days since Abdi’s mother kicked Abdi out of her Minneapolis apartment. MA locked Abdi out of the apartment when Abdi went to the store. Abdi threw rocks at MA’s sliding glass door causing damage to the glass. MA said Abdi had also damaged a closet door inside the apartment. Officers saw holes in the closet door and smaller dents in the wall to the left of the closet door. Officers saw marks and scratches on the exterior sliding glass doors.
Abdi said MA pushed him out of the apartment door and locked it. He threw rocks at the window so MA would let him back in. Officers arrested Abdi. The apartment complex provided an estimate in the amount of $3360 to repair the damaged sliding glass doors and an estimate in the amount of $121 to repair the closet door.
