On January 5, 2025, Minneapolis St. Paul Airport Police Department Officer(s) received a report of a wristlet that had gone missing from the MSP Airport Terminal #1 lightrail platform. The reporting party, "Victim" herein, reported her wristlet contained cash, gift cards, credit cards and her driver’s license. Victim also noted that two of her cards were used at Walmart. In reviewing video of the lightrail platform, officer(s) were able to determine Victim’s wristlet was taken by Suspect 1 at approximately 1601 hours before Suspect 1 departed the property.
Victim's cards were used shortly after at Walmart in Minneapolis for $137.54 at 1650 hours, and at Walmart in Bloomington for $216.96 at 1701 hours. Both Walmart locations are in Hennepin County, Minnesota. Walmart was able to pull video and receipts for these transactions. Video of the two transactions show the same suspect, "Suspect 2" herein, conducting the transactions. The investigator determined Suspect 2 to be Joseph Rudolph Gaboury-Bachrodt III, [DOB REDACTED], "Defendant" herein. Defendant's former Probation Agent was provided a photograph of Suspect 2 to which he recognized Suspect 2 as Defendant and noted "that clearly is him." The State is requesting this matter issue as a warrant as Defendant is currently in custody at the Department of Corrections and it is unlikely he will respond to a summons in this matter.
