On February 27, 2026 at approximately 12:30 A.M., law enforcement officers were dispatched to a residence in Maple Grove, Hennepin County, Minnesota on a report of a theft of a vehicle that caused injuries to multiple individuals. Officers responded and through investigation, it was determined that KYLE JOHN DURAINE [DOB REDACTED] came over to the residence to see his ex-girlfriend, M. B. M. B. Believed that DURAINE was under the influence of methamphetamine based on the way he was acting. DURAINE began to act paranoid and aggressive.
M. B. Told DURAINE to wait outside so that they could get him an Uber to his brother’s house. DURAINE then took a shovel to M. B.’s vehicle and started smashing out the windows to her car. M. B. Got into the driver seat to move her vehicle at which point, DURAINE got into the passenger seat. DURAINE then climbed into the driver seat as she was still sitting there. DURAINE then reversed the car before putting it in drive and proceeding forward. DURAINE was yelling at M. B. About calling the police.
DURAINE then pushed M. B. Out of the vehicle as the vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed. Officers spoke to other witnesses at the residence. A. A. A. Was standing near the driver side door when DURAINE put the car into reverse. A. A. A. Was trying to turn the vehicle off. When DURAINE accelerated, A. A. A. Was dragged by the driver’s door, causing injuries to his legs. A.M. A. Reported she believed she was run over by the vehicle, and her legs were in extreme pain. At approximately 5:30 A.M., M. B.’s vehicle was located in Casselton, North Dakota.
DURAINE initially provided a false name but was determined to be the driver. DURAINE remains in-custody in North Dakota. A WARRANT is therefore requested.
