On 11/04/2025 at approximately 1428 hours, Minnetonka Police officers responded to a report of a robbery at [ADDRESS REDACTED], Minnetonka, Hennepin County, Minnesota. Officers arrived and spoke with multiple witnesses that reported that a male had stolen a purse from a female and fled. Witnesses provided a description of the suspect. Officers spoke with a known adult female, Victim herein. Victim [NAME REDACTED] was seated at a table with her purse next to her when the suspect grabbed her purse and fled.
Victim described her purse and its contents. Officers then spoke with a known adult female, Witness 1 herein. Witness 1 reported that she heard a lot of screaming and yelling that someone had stolen a purse. Witness 1 observed the suspect described by bystanders running from where the yelling was coming from. Witness 1 was able to see suspect’s face as he had threatened her. Witness 1 then observed suspect enter a tan/gold minivan and drive off. An officer in the area who heard a description of the vehicle dispatched observed the vehicle drive past him onto Highway 169. The officer began following the vehicle which began driving erratically.
The officer was able to observe the suspect as the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle. The officer then lost sight of the vehicle as he received information from Hopkins Police Department that the male associated with the vehicle is known to them as Cameron Denelll Hawkins, [DOB REDACTED], Defendant herein. The officer then observed an individual that matched the description of Defendant walking in the area where the officer lost sight of the vehicle. The officer confronted Defendant who was being non-compliant.
The officer placed Defendant under arrest and searched him. During a search of Defendant, the officer located multiple credit cards in the name of Victim [NAME REDACTED] in her purse. The vehicle Defendant fled in was located a half-block away. Defendant is currently in custody.
