He said he went to the Emerald Inn to meet with his brother (FG) who stole $900 and a number of tools from him. He went there to get his items back. He knew FG was staying at the Emerald Inn. He saw FG in a Chevrolet Malibu in the parking lot and parked behind it. He got out of the vehicle and talked to FG through the window. There was a female in the Malibu. CASTRO demanded his items from FG and slapped him once in the face. FG got out of the vehicle and they argued. FG said he would return his money.
They went up to the hotel room. FG did not have money to give him. CASTRO went downstairs, got in his vehicle, and left. CASTRO said he fled officers because he was afraid of cops. CASTRO denied robbing anyone and said he was the real victim. 2 62-CR-26-718 Filed in District Court State of Minnesota 2/2/2026 AF said she was asked to pick up a male from the Emerald Inn. AF picked up FG in her Malibu and drove him to get a battery for his vehicle. She drove FG back to the Emerald Inn. She parked on the west side of the building.
A black Tahoe blocked her vehicle and parked directly behind her. FG said the “dude wants to kill me; I need you to pull off.” A male approached her vehicle and asked FG to roll down his window. The male began punching FG and accused him of stealing from him. The male reached in through the open passenger side window, opened the door, and pulled FG out. A female that was with the male got into AF’s vehicle and prevented her from leaving. The female told her to give her phone to her and to not call police.
AF gave her phone to the female. About ten minutes later, the male returned and told her to open the Saturn. The male rummaged the Saturn, and the backseat of her vehicle. The male and two females rummaged through the backseat of her vehicle. They returned her phone and left in a black Tahoe. AF said she was missing a black Coach purse, two electronic cigarettes. The suspect also took FG’s blue Patagonia jacket from the vehicle.
