On December 8, 2025, at approximately 7:30 P.M., Metro Transit Police received notification about a group of people loitering and making small warming fires inside the Lagoon and Hennepin BRT platform in Minneapolis, Hennepin County. RTIC also advised and sent images of a male suspect making a hand-to- hand narcotics transaction at the location. Police responded and located the male suspect. As police attempted to stop him, the suspect began walking away and did not stop as directed. Police detained him and showed him the images of the narcotics deal, to which Defendant replied he was "selling fake fentanyl." Officers then attempted to identify the male suspect who provided the name of "Mar'quis Deon'ta Jameson" with a date of birth of 12/28/1998. The name came back as having a felony warrant, and the male suspect was placed under arrest.
Upon searching him incident to arrest, police located various drug paraphernalia and suspected narcotics. During the intake process at the Hennepin County Jail, police discovered the male suspect's real name was MARTI'NEZ DE'JUAN DESHO THOMPSON [DOB REDACTED], Defendant herein. Police ran Jameson's name again and discovered that Defendant and Jameson look very similar and Defendant also had warrants out for his arrest. Police later processed the items found within Defendant's backpack including post it notes and tinfoil containing suspected narcotics.
Police field tested the items with results of:.17 grams of FTP Fentanyl,.26 grams of FTP Fentanyl, and.51 grams of FTP Cocaine. At present, Defendant is in custody.
