On December 4, 2025, at approximately 11:19 A.M., Minneapolis Police Department officers were dispatched to a robbery that occurred in the area of Fremont Avenue North and Glenwood Avenue North in Minneapolis, Hennepin County, Minnesota. The reporting party, Victim herein, reported that he was robbed at gunpoint by a man, later identified as NATHANALE BRAYDEN MCKOWN [DOB REDACTED], Defendant herein. Victim [NAME REDACTED] was following the suspect and his female accomplice, later identified as V. L. B., as they walked northbound on Fremont approaching Van White Memorial Boulevard.
Officers arrived in the area and located the suspects. Defendant ran away from the officers. Defendant dropped multiple items during a foot chase as he fled from officers. Eventually, Defendant slipped, and police detained him. Police searched the path of Defendant's flight and a pair of glasses later identified as Victim's property. Officers also found a loaded silver Springfield.45 caliber pistol with a silver slide. Area surveillance video showed Defendant removed the pistol from a black bag he was carrying and dropped it on the ground where police recovered it.
Police spoke to Victim, who explained that he met V. L. B. On Snapchat a few days prior. Victim said he watched a movie with V. L. B. At his house in New Hope, after which V. L. B. Asked for a ride to her cousin's residence in Minneapolis. Victim drove V. L. B. To that address, where Defendant entered his car, pointed a silver pistol at his ribs, and told him to drive. Victim [NAME REDACTED] one mile, after which Defendant took his earrings, glasses, and wallet, and attempted to take his phone. Defendant and V. L. B. Then exited his car and walked away.
Victim’s wallet was found on Defendant’s property after arrest. Defendant was also found to have suspected narcotics on his person. Defendant is currently in custody.
