Complainant is Maple Grove Police Department Detective Dominic Wareham. Complainant states that on May 4, 2024, officers responded to the Walmart in the city of Maple Grove, Hennepin County, Minnesota, regarding a report of a theft. Walmart loss prevention officer J. Makori advised that two unknown males entered the store and proceeded to take a radar detector. One of the males was tampering with a locked cases in the ACC section and was able to open it. The male then took a radar detector and concealed it, later discarding the packaging in the seasonal aisle.
Both males then left the store past all points of sale with the merchandise, which was valued at $249.00. The males left in a silver Toyota sedan and J. Makori was able to provide the license plate number. The theft was captured on video surveillance. The registered owner of the vehicle was H. D., a female that was not involved. However, H. D. Has an active OFP against JOSHUA ALAN DEMEULES [DOB REDACTED]. On May 17, 2024, officers responded to the Walmart for a separate report of a male tampering with the locked cases that contained radar detectors.
At that time, officers made contact with and positively identified DEMEULES. Walmart loss prevention J. Makori positively identified DEMEULES as one of the males that stole the radar detector on May 4, 2024.
