Probable Cause
On or about October 28, 2024, Law Enforcement received an automatic license plate reader alert for a stolen vehicle in the area Main Street NW and Riverdale BLVD NW, in the City of Coon Rapids, Anoka County, MN. Law Enforcement subsequently located the stolen vehicle in the nearby Costco parking lot. Law Enforcement observed the male driver, later identified through investigation as ERIK ARREOLA- MORALES [DOB REDACTED], Defendant herein, as the vehicle drove past them. While traveling on Main St NW, Law Enforcement initiated a traffic stop with emergency lights activated.
Defendant pulled the vehicle to the side of the road. Once Law Enforcement exited their vehicle, a female and small child [NAME REDACTED], and Defendant drove off in the vehicle. A pursuit ensued wherein the Defendant reached speeds up to approximately 110 miles per hour while weaving through traffic and using the shoulder. The pursuit was terminated for safety reasons. Defendant’s present whereabout are unknown. Defendant currently has an active felony warrant for failing to appear at a scheduled court hearing in court file no. 02-CR-24-6537. Accordingly, the State respectfully requests a body only complaint warrant issue in this matter and requests Defendant be held in custody until appropriate bail and conditions of release are set pursuant to Minn.
R. Crim. Pro 6.02, subd. 1, to include the issuance of appropriate protective orders.
