On April 19, 2026, Coon Rapids Police were dispatched to a residence located on 106th Lane NW in the City of Coon Rapids, Anoka County, Minnesota, regarding a domestic assault in progress. Upon arrival, Officer Wallinga met with a male, CW, who stated that he and his girlfriend KIARA HOPE HENDERSON, [DOB REDACTED], hereinafter defendant, got into an argument about him possibly cheating on her. CW said the argument escalated to the point that defendant began hitting him in the face and head area multiple times with both hands.
CW then called 911. CW said that yesterday April 18, 2026, during the same argument, the defendant cut him with a knife. CW stated he was on the stairs leading to the upstairs living area when the defendant came down the stairs toward him and made a large swinging motion with a knife. CW said the knife cut his left ankle, causing a laceration that required stitches at the hospital. Officer Wallinga observed CW’s ankle was wrapped in gauze and appeared to be actively bleeding. Photographs were taken of the injury and officers noted approximately six stitches.
CW then showed the officers where the knife was currently located. Officers observed a large machete style knife with a serrated blade on top and a smooth blade on the button. Officers estimated the blade to be approximately 10 inches in length.
