On March 23, 2026, Minneapolis Police Department officers responded to [ADDRESS REDACTED], Minneapolis, Hennepin County for a stabbing. Upon arrival, officers met with Victim [NAME REDACTED] who had deep lacerations on their left hand and was bleeding profusely. Victim [NAME REDACTED] explained they were in the apartment with ROBERT ARTHUR HICKS [DOB REDACTED], now referred to as "Defendant." She had known Defendant for approximately six months and they sometimes smoke crack cocaine together and have consensual sexual contact.
Today, the two had been drinking alcohol and smoking crack cocaine. Victim [NAME REDACTED] stated Defendant became angry with Victim [NAME REDACTED] and punched them in the head. At this point, Victim [NAME REDACTED] said they started to move towards a knife that had been stuck in the door to keep it out of reach of Defendant. Defendant grabbed it first and started stabbing Victim [NAME REDACTED] Victim [NAME REDACTED] ran out of Defendant's apartment and down to the front desk where 911 was called.
SWAT responded to the building and had to make entry to take Defendant into custody. Fresh blood was seen on Defendant, and a bloody knife was recovered from the apartment. Victim [NAME REDACTED] required stitches for their injuries and had visible bruising on their neck and body when officers later met them at the hospital. A warrant is requested in the interest of public safety.
