While investigating Shelby Whitt for cashing checks without sufficient funds, Moorhead Police Department Detective T. Krone observed two checks that were cashed with insufficient funds by an individual by the name of SHAYLA LYNN TAYLOR [DOB REDACTED], hereinafter the Defendant. These two checks were cashed on March 20, 2025 and March 23, 2025 for the amounts of $495.29 and $473.54 respectively. Both checks were presented at the Menards in Moorhead, located in Clay County, MN, for the purchase of merchandise there.
Krone was able to obtain security footage of the incidents, and observed that the Defendant was the individual who signed and cashed the checks. The Defendant was accompanied by Shelby Whitt during the incident. Both checks cashed by the Defendant bounced due to insufficient funds. PLEASE TAKE NOTICE: Pursuant to Minn. Stat. 609.49., intentional failure to appear for duly scheduled court appearances may result in additional criminal charges, and in addition to any arrest warrant that may otherwise be issued by the Court.
