Moorhead Officers spoke with F. V., who had information regarding the assault. F. V. Provided Ofc. J. Secord with a phone number belonging to Jeremiah Francis McDonald [DOB REDACTED](hereinafter "McDonald"). F. V. Stated that McDonald was Defendant's best friend and described McDonald as a white male, in his 30s, standing approximately 5'10", weighing 120-130 lbs, with blonde hair shaved into a buzzcut. F. V. Stated "they" had plans to set the victim up and they were blaming F. V. When asked who "they" were, F. V. Stated it was Defendant, McDonald and "everyone else." F. V. Stated that he saw Defendant and McDonald a few hours after the robbery/assault occurred.
F. V. Received a text message from Defendant that stated "something bad happened." F. V. Then went to Defendant's residence, where McDonald showed F. V. His hand, which was swollen. McDonald told F. V. That he had put his hands in the Victim's mouth and was bitten. F. V. Also learned that Defendant had drawn a circle on Defendant's hand to show the swelling. 2 14-CR-26-7 Filed in District Court State of Minnesota 1/2/2026 McDonald also pointed to a spot on the ground near the garage and stated that is where "it" happened.
F. V. Stated that in a previous conversation with McDonald, McDonald stated that if he were to commit an assault, he would wear a mask and gloves. A credit card stolen from the Victim [NAME REDACTED] was used after the robbery at the Family Fare store on North University in Fargo, ND. Family Fare Loss Prevention employees located a receipt for the transaction, which occurred on August 27, 2024 at 0659 hours. The transaction was flagged as suspected fraud. Records showed the card was used to pay $0.47 of the $15.83 total.
A review of video footage from Family Fare shows that the suspect vehicle pulled into the Shell Gas Station northeast of Family Fare, prior to coming into the store. The video shows a blue Ford pickup enter the parking lot at 0648 hours on August 27, 2024. A passenger of the truck, later identified as K. D., exited the vehicle and went into Family Fare. K. D.
