Detective Pierre also compared PAUL'S driver's license photo to the suspect images and determined there is a strong resemblance. PAUL had numerous prior involvements with law enforcement, most notably an incident on August 6, 2025, in which a silver Ford F150 entered a storage unit facility where PAUL'S girlfriend rents a unit, and the occupants of the Ford burglarized several of the other units. Working together with other law enforcement agencies, Detective Pierre determined that the silver Ford F150 bears Minnesota license plate RTW410, and is registered to Bobbie Jo Lauer, who also owns a 2 82-CR-26-1318 Filed in District Court State of Minnesota 3/30/2026 black Ford F150. Detective Pierre also learned that ROBERT BERNARD CARPENTIER, [DOB REDACTED], shares the same address as Lauer and has recent criminal history.
Detective Pierre reviewed electronic surveillance video of both Ford F150s that was provided by the Washington County Sheriff's Office and determined that the lift might have been transported to North Star Mini Storage (North Star) in Vadnais Heights. Detective Pierre reviewed North Star's surveillance footage and observed that on September 2 at 6:30 P.M., the black Ford F150 pulled the lift into the parking lot of Macaluso's Roadhouse restaurant (Macaluso's), which is located across the street from North Star.
At 7:59 P.M., the Ford F150 left Macaluso's, leaving the trailer and lift behind. On September 3, the Ford F150 returned to Macaluso's at 11:10 A.M. And left with the trailer and lift. On September 4, the White Bear Lake Police Department investigated a parking complaint at CARPENTIER'S address regarding the Ford F150 and the trailer, which was now empty. CARPENTIER was on scene and spoke with officers, along with Hernandez, the owner of the trailer.
