On March 20, 2026, at 6:28 P.M., Deputy Zakrzewski with the Washington County Sheriff's Office was dispatched to a residence located at [ADDRESS REDACTED] North, #104, in the city of Hugo, Washington County, regarding a damage to property. Upon arrival, Deputy Zakrzewski met with the reporting party, P. B., who stated that his son, PETER RICHARD MICHAEL BERGER, [DOB REDACTED], had been removing P. B.'s belongings from inside the home and placing them outside. BERGER had also smashed out the headlights of a vehicle on the property, a Volkswagon Jetta belonging to a friend of P. B.'s. Deputies searched the area for BERGER and located him urinating in a nearby field.
Deputies noted this was the second time they had been called to the property that day because of BERGER'S erratic behavior. BERGER was arrested for damage to property. During a search incident to arrest, deputies located a bag containing a crystalized substance on BERGER'S person, and a bubble pipe. The crystalized substance weighed 26.3 grams and NIK-tested positive for methamphetamine. BERGER was transported to the Washington County Jail where he remains in custody. He is also pending trial on a prohibited person in possession of a firearm case (82-CR-24-434), which is set for trial on May 11, 2026.
