On April 1, 2026, law enforcement executed a narcotics search warrant at 6806 63rd Avenue North, Unit 305, Brooklyn Park, Hennepin County, Minnesota. The target of the investigation was LUIS ANGEL NAVARETTE AGUILAR, [DOB REDACTED], DEFENDANT herein. DEFENDANT was listed as the renter of the apartment unit. Apartment 305 is a single bedroom apartment. DEFENDANT answered the door when officers knocked and announced. The front door is approximately 15 feet from the bedroom. DEFENDANT was in his boxer shorts and appeared as though he had been sleeping.
An adult female was also present inside. Officers searched the unit and found the following items in the bedroom: - A Champion brand backpack which contained 3,492.75 grams of cocaine (a representative sample field tested positive) and a Ruger 9mm pistol. - Under the bed, 499.06 grams of methamphetamine (a representative sample field tested positive) and a Taurus Ultra Light.38 special pistol. Officers also found $4,148 cash. The cash and quantity of drugs are both in indicative of intent to sell.
Given the small size of the apartment and the fact that DEFENDANT was likely in the bedroom at the time that police knocked and announced their presence, both firearms appeared to be within DEFENDANT’S immediate reach. In a post-Miranda statement, DEFENDANT stated none of the drugs belong to the female and she had nothing to do with them. DEFENDANT admitted to selling drugs. He said the guns belong to the person whom he is selling drugs for but admitted to knowing they were in the residence and handling them.
DEFENDANT stated he wanted to return to Mexico. DEFENDANT is currently in custody.
