On May 01, 2024, MADISON KATHERINE SIPE [DOB REDACTED], Defendant herein, rented a U-Haul vehicle in the City of Fridley, Anoka County, MN, for a period of 1 day. The vehicle was to be returned the following day on May 02, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. Defendant failed to return the vehicle by the due date. The vehicle was later reported as stolen to Law Enforcement. On or about June 09, 2024, the U-Haul vehicle was located at 420 Coon Rapids BLVD NW, Coon Rapids, Anoka County, MN. Defendant was found nearby and refused to identify herself.

Defendant was detained and later identified herself to Law Enforcement. Without any prompting or questioning, Defendant told Law Enforcement that she was the person who rented the U-Haul and stated that she was not aware that the vehicle was overdue and considered stolen until she received a phone call from a Law Enforcement officer in the last 48 hours. Defendant was released and provided Law Enforcement with the key to the stolen U-Haul.
