On June 3, 2025, Moorhead police officers were dispatched to the Circle K gas station located at 1501 11th Street North in the City of Moorhead, County of Clay, State of Minnesota for the report of a male passed out behind the wheel of a white van on the west side of the building. Officers arrived on scene and observed a male slumped over behind the steering wheel of a white Dodge Caravan. The male was identified as Alex Roy Peltier [DOB REDACTED](hereinafter "Defendant") and the vehicle was running and appeared to be in park.
Officers observed copious amounts of foil and straws consistent with the use of narcotics in the vehicle. Officers also observed a white plastc baggies in a plastic container on the passenger seat. An officer reached in the driver's side window to turn off the van as a safety precaution. Shortly after, the Defendant woke up and stated he had fallen asleep after getting into the vehicle. The Defendant stepped out of the vehicle and spoke with officers. The Defendant denied using narcotics. Officers again observed the baggie in plain view on the passenger seat.
The baggie appeared to contain a white crystalline substance. The baggie was tied off in a not and contained numerous rocks of a clear/white crystalline substance consistent with methamphetamine. A search of the vehicle yielded a clear glass jar containing a white powder. The powder field tested positive for fentanyl and weighed approximately 0.4 grams. The crystal substance was tested by the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension. The results showed the substance weighed 13.959 grams and tested positive for methamphetamine.
A search of the Defendant's criminal history shows three previous convictions for possession of methamphetamine in North Dakota. As the writing of this complaint, the Defendant is currently in custody in the Cass County, ND Jail on charges of Fleeing a Peace Officer - Risk of Serious Bodily Injury or Death and Refusal to Halt.
