On August 4, 2025, WILLIAM PUSTLEWAITE aka WILLIAM POSTLEWAITE [DOB REDACTED] failed to appear at a pretrial on a motor vehicle theft in Ramsey County District Court file ••-CR-••-••••. A warrant was issued for Pustlewaite’s arrest. On August 19, 2025, Pustlewaite failed to appear at a pretrial on a charge of nonconsensual dissemination of private sexual images in Hennepin County District Court file ••-CR-••-••••. A warrant was issued for Pustlewaite’s arrest. At around 11:00 PM on December 31, 2025, Saint Paul officers reported a 2006 Jeep Commander bearing Minnesota license plates SXE442 fled from their traffic stop.
Saint Paul officers followed the Commander, but they did not pursue it. Deputies located the Commander and aired its direction of travel. Deputy McManus threw stop sticks out his squad’s driver’s ide window, but the Commander drove around and avoided them at a high rate of speed. Deputy McManus got behind the Commander which failed to stop at multiple stop signs on Magnolia Avenue. Saint Paul officers deployed stop sticks when the Commander got to Rice Street, but the Commander again avoided them.
The Commander fled at a high rate of speed and swerved around vehicles. The Commander crashed but continued to flee. The Commander eventually spun out when it tried to go around a vehicle and became disabled in a snowbank on Rice Street near Montana Avenue, St. Paul, Ramsey County. Pustlewaite fled from the Commander’s driver’s seat when Deputy McManus approached and activated his squad’s emergency lights. Deputy McManus deployed his taser and stopped Pustlewaite. Pustlewaite declined a custodial interview.
