On November 11, 2025, Cottage Grove Police Department Officer Taylor was dispatched to Ulta, located at [ADDRESS REDACTED] South, in Cottage Grove, Washington County, Minnesota, for a report of a theft from the store. Upon her arrival at the store, Officer Taylor spoke with Witness 1 (an adult female fully identified in police reports), who works at the store. Witness 1 reported that a theft had occurred the day before, on November 11, 2025. On that day, camera footage showed a slender male, in his late twenties to early thirties, wearing a gray jacket, black pants and a black bag go into the fragrances section of the store and take a number of items, and leave the store without paying for them.
The total loss of the items was $1,412.00. Officer Taylor reviewed the surveillance footage, which showed the theft. Through further investigation and assistance with other law enforcement agencies, and comparing the surveillance footage to known DVS photographs, detectives were able to identity the suspect as GULED ABDI FARAH [DOB REDACTED].
