On October 10, 2025, at approximately 7:43 P.M., Brooklyn Center Police were conducting a walkthrough of the Super 8 hotel, located at [ADDRESS REDACTED] North in Brooklyn Center, Hennepin County. While walking on the second floor, an officer observed a male suspect he recognized to have multiple outstanding warrants, identified as JAMES EDWARD MARSAW [DOB REDACTED], Defendant herein. As the officer approached to arrest Defendant, he observed a clear plastic baggie in Defendant's hand. The officer placed Defendant under arrest and obtained the bag that contained a bindle of suspected rock cocaine.
The officer escorted Defendant outside and conducted a search of his person, locating additional clear plastic bags containing suspected narcotics. Police confirmed Defendant's warrants and transported him to the jail. Police processed the bags that were collected which field-tested positive for 2.55 grams of cocaine, 1.87 grams cocaine,.15 grams of methamphetamine, and.08 grams methamphetamine. On March 19, 2026, the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension issued a report on the substances and identified the following: 2.174 grams containing cocaine, 1.732 grams containing fentanyl, and.106 grams containing methamphetamine.
At present, Defendant is not in custody.
