The Complainant having reviewed the applicable reports believes the following facts to be true: On or about June 9, 2025 at 23:28 om, a Saint Paul Police officer was on routine patrol near [ADDRESS REDACTED] in the City of Saint Paul, Ramsey County, MN. While in that area, the officer observed a vehicle was traveling westbound on Front Avenue towards Kent Street N. The officer ran the license plate check and discovered that the registered owner had a canceled inimical to public safety driver’s license.
The officer retrieved the driver’s DVS photo for identification purposes. The vehicle stopped on Lawson Avenue W and the officer passed the vehicle slowly on the left and used his squad vehicle’s “right alley” light to identify the driver. The driver appeared to match the DVS photo of the registered owner. The officer initiated a traffic stop and approached the driver;s side. The officer identified the driver as, Craig Allen Cortner, (DOB: 08‐20‐1972), the defendant herein. The officer confirmed confirmed that the defendant’s privilege to drive a motor vehicle had been cancelled as inimical to public safety on or about August 12, 2022 and had not since been reinstated.
The defendant was notified of said cancellation as required by State law. The defendant was arrested and taken into custody without incident.
