On Wednesday, December 10, 2025, officers were dispatched to a welfare check at a trailer located in Corcoran, Hennepin County, Minnesota for an adult male, “Victim” herein. There was no response at the residence and officers left. They returned the next day, noting that the trailer appeared the same with two vehicles in the driveway covered in snow and no fresh tire marks. Officers attempted to enter the trailer but were initially unable to open the door. They eventually were able to force the door open and found that a piece of wood had been screwed into the door frame from the inside.
In a bedroom, officers noted a strong odor and discovered Victim, [NAME REDACTED], lying face down on the floor. Defendant’s head was wrapped in plastic. In a bathroom, officers found STEVEN FREDRICK ENDSLEY, [DOB REDACTED], “Defendant” herein, in his underwear holding a loaded rifle. Defendant told officers he lived there with Victim. An autopsy was performed which confirmed Victim’s cause of death was three gunshot wounds to the back of the head, two of which were at close range. Bullet fragments were recovered from Victim that had a copper covering.
The bullets inside the rifle Defendant was holding also had a copper covering. During a post-Miranda statement, Defendant said he had been home since Monday and hadn’t left the trailer. Defendant told officers that he only leaves to get alcohol. He stated that no one else had come to the trailer or left. Defendant said he didn’t remember doing it, but that it couldn’t have been anyone else. Defendant informed officers that he put Victim on plastic and moved the body. When asked why he killed Victim, [NAME REDACTED] didn’t want to tell them.
Defendant is currently in custody.
