On December 1, 2025, officers with the Eden Prairie Police Department were alerted to a report of theft from Walmart at [address omitted], Eden Prairie, Hennepin County, Minnesota. Officers were alerted that a male, later identified as TRENT ROBERT WILLIAMS, ([DOB redacted]), “Defendant” herein, had passed all points of sale without paying for all of his merchandise. When officers arrived, Defendant had already been stopped by loss prevention. Officers learned that Defendant had entered the store and made a purchase of a cell phone but remained in the store with the store bag and concealed additional merchandise in the store bag.
Defendant then went to the self-checkout and paid for some items but did not present other items for scanning. The value of the stolen merchandise was approximately $53.41. Defendant was placed under arrest and a cross-body bag he was wearing was searched. Inside the bag officers discovered a trace amount of a clear crystal substance in a small plastic bag. Officers then discovered another small plastic bag that contained multiple clear crystal rocks. The substance was later field-tested positive for methamphetamine and with packaging had a total weight of 6.02 grams.
Defendant is currently in custody.
