On or about September 27, 2025, Officers from the Blaine Police Department executed an arrest warrant at a residence located in the City of Blaine, Anoka County. The officers learned that Jonathan Soto, [DOB REDACTED], hereinafter the Defendant, had several active felony warrants. Officers arrived on scene and stayed outside of Defendant’s residence. Upon walking around the residence, officers confirmed Defendant to be inside. The officer knocked on the door, which was partially opened in response by Defendant, who was in an agitated state.
Defendant was advised he was under arrest. An officer attempted to grab Defendant’s wrist to secure him, but Defendant resisted. During the resistance, Defendant attempted to punch the officer with a closed fist. Defendant also struck an officer in the hand with a screwdriver, causing the officer a visible injury and significant pain to his hand. Officers were eventually able to take Defendant into custody.
