On January 6, 2026, at approximately 7:27 P.M., Saint Paul Officers were dispatched to the 600 block of Galtier Street, Saint Paul, County of Ramsey, on a domestic assault. JOSIAH DANIEL LARSON, [DOB REDACTED], the suspect, was gone when officers arrived. Officers arrived and made contact with JDL, who was visibly upset. JDL had red marks on her back that she said were caused by her brother, LARSON. LARSON’s grandmother and witness, JN, said JDL and LARSON had been arguing over who was yelling at their mother.
LARSON tried to go upstairs, but JDL prevented him from doing so, believing he would damage or take her belongings as he has in the past. A physical altercation occurred on the stairway. JDL was on her back and LARSON was on top of her. JN intervened and separated the two. LARSON then walked into the living room and paced. He removed a black knife from a sheath and said something like, “Everyone is going to die.” Their mother removed LARSON from the apartment and drove him to an unknown location.
JDL said earlier, she requested Doritos as groceries were being put away. Her mother refused. JDL became upset and argued with her mother. JDL said she threw an empty plastic bottle onto the living room floor. LARSON became upset and smashed a full bottle of orange juice on the floor in the living room/kitchen area. LARSON began yelling at their mother. She and LARSON argued about the mess, and she told him to clean it. LARSON tried to go upstairs. She believed he was going to her bedroom to take her computer.
She followed him and tried to stop him. A physical altercation occurred on the stairs during which she sustained the red marks on her back. LARSON got off of her, went into the living room, removed a knife from its sheath, and then quickly placed it back in his pocket. LARSON said something like, “We would all die.” JDL did not see the knife in his hand at the time. She went to her bedroom to call police. In blueprint questions, JDL said she was most frightened by LARSON during an incident years ago when he slammed her head into a doorway.
Witness JJG said he was in his apartment when he heard a lot of yelling from a male and two females. He said the verbal arguments occur once a week and this argument was worse. He heard the male say something like, “I’m going to kill you or I’m going to kill both of you.” After the threats, he heard more arguing. Someone said they were leaving. An investigator mad several attempts to contact JDL for a follow-up interview, to no avail.
