On or about September 12th, 2024, within the county of Mille Lacs, state of Minnesota, Mille Lacs County Sheriff's Deputy Kate Sammis spoke with RICHARD KOLLMAN in regard to stolen guns. RICHARD said that his daughter, DAWN MARIE KOLLMAN [DOB REDACTED], had stolen three guns from his gunroom sometime within the last two weeks. DAWN and her boyfriend, SHANNON TROY JOHNS [DOB REDACTED] are the only people that have access to and have been in the residence. RICHARD said that the door to the gunroom is locked, however, it is an old style bedroom lock with a small hole in which something can be easily inserted to unlock it.
The guns were removed from the boxes and cases, and the cases were left behind in the room. RICHARD said this has been an ongoing issue with DAWN and that he believes she has been siphoning gas from his vehicles and stealing his prescribed Oxycodone. The guns that were taken were: -9MM Uzi (unkown make/model/serical number at this time) valued at $500.00 -Stevens 23248 MOD 230 12 GA GHOST RING SIGHT, BLACK, s/n 011356232489 (217576J) valued at $500.00 -Stevens 19494 MOD 230 20 GA FIELD GRADE SPORT BEAD SIGHT, BLACK, s/n 011356194947 (213084T) valued at $500.00 -Remington model 597.17HMR s/n A2911713M On September 13, 2024, Mille Lacs County Deputy Kate Sammis located the Stevens 20 GA s/n 213084T listed on Leads Online.
It showed that DAWN had pawned the firearm at Pawn America in Anoka on August 29th, 2024. DAWN had additionally pawned a Remington 17 HMR s/n A2911713M. Both firearms, as well as surveillance footage from both inside the Pawn America and the parking lot was collected by Mille Lacs County Investigator Hillesland. The surveillance footage showed DAWN and her daughter 4 ••-CR-••-•••• Filed in District Court State of Minnesota 2/17/2026 completing the transaction with the two firearms. A Pawn America worker informed Investigator Hillesland that DAWN had said that the firearms were her father's who had passed away.
On October 14th, 2024, Investigator Hillesland met RICHARD at his residence and was informed that RICHARD was missing a Stihl chainsaw with a 36 inch bar and a Reddy Heater propane heater. Investigator Hillesland checked Leads Online and found that both items were pawned at the Zimmerman Trading Post on September 3rd, 2024, by DAWN. Investigator Hillesland recovered the chainsaw and heater from Zimmerman Trading Post and spoke with a worker who said that DAWN had come into the store to sell the items, and had said that RICHARD had passed away and she was selling his items.
