Your complainant is employed by the Columbia Heights Police Department. In that capacity, complainant has reviewed official reports filed and has learned substantially the following: On November 15, 2025, Officer Austin and CSO AHA, [DOB REDACTED] were conducting alcohol compliance checks at businesses in the City of Columbia Heights. At approximately 4:28 pm, CSO AHA entered JBS Autoworld, [ADDRESS REDACTED], Columbia Heights, Anoka County, Minnesota, and purchased a six pack of Corona beer ($9.99) from the male employee later identified as Shavontre Paris Williams, [DOB REDACTED], the defendant herein.
AHA advised he exited the store with the beer and advised Officer Austin that the defendant asked for his ID scanned it and continued the sale of alcohol to him. Officer Austin then entered the establishment, made contact with the Defendant and retrieved the original $20.00 bill used in the transaction. Officer Austin spoke with the Defendant who stated it was not his fault, “the system failed me”. Officer Austin advised the Defendant that he would be charged by formal complaint at a later date.
