On or about November 26, 2025, Minneapolis police responded to [ADDRESS REDACTED] East for a shots fired call. Police arrived and made contact with a male, Witness 1 herein. Witness 1 said he had video of the incident. Police reviewed the video and saw a male, later identified as DAMARIO MONTE BROWN [DOB REDACTED] "Defendant" herein, leaving the area and ditching something in the rear of the address. Defendant can be seen running toward a dumpster and then run southbound. Officers located a firearm near the dumpster Defendant was seen running to.
Police also located Milestone video that shows a silver Audi parked nearby. Defendant is then seen entering the front of the address. A few minutes later, after shots are fired, Defendant runs and gets into the Audi. Police obtained the license plate on the vehicle from the Milestone video. The registered owner lists the Defendant. The firearm was submitted for DNA processing. Defendant's fingerprint was located on the magazine of the firearm. Police located the defendant and arrested him. In a post-Miranda interview the defendant admitted that he was in possession of the firearm and said he keeps it for his own safety.
Defendant is prohibited from possessing firearms and ammunition due to his criminal history, which includes: -Second Degree Drugs (27-CR-10-3041), convicted 6/11/2010. Defendant is in custody.
