On April 5, 2026, law enforcement officers were dispatched to the Super 8 Motel in Bloomington, Hennepin County, Minnesota on a report of threats made. The 911 caller, identified as N. M., reported LEAH CARL MACHACEK [DOB REDACTED] came into his room and threatened to stab him before exiting through the window. Law enforcement officers were familiar with MACHACEK and knew she had been trespassed from this motel. Officers met with N. M. Who reported he was laying in bed when MACHACEK jumped through the window and into her motel room.
MACHACEK told N. M. She was there to gather her stuff, but she then took off her clothes and went to use the bathroom. N. M. Was frustrated and told her to leave. MACHACEK began to gather her belongings but then lingered in the room and refused to leave. N. M. Told MACHACEK to get out. She then approached him and N. M. Pushed her back with two arms. MACHACEK then grabbed a pair of scissors and opened them up, pointing them towards N. M. MACHACEK then lunged at him with the scissors. MACHACEK was approximately one arm's length away from him.
N. M. Was scared MACHACEK was going to stab him. N. M. Then grabbed his phone to call 911 at which point MACHACEK dropped the scissors and took off running out the window. The scissors were located in the motel room and collected as evidence. MACHACEK was located a short distance away and placed under arrest. N. M. And MACHACEK were previously in a significant romantic relationship. MACHACEK has a prior conviction for Assault in the 2nd Degree from November 19, 2020 (05-CR-20- 1044). In this offense, MACHACEK stabbed another individual with scissors in the head, and the injuries required surgical intervention.
N. M. Reported he knew MACHACEK had a history of stabbing someone else with scissors which made him more scared that she would actually follow through with her threat. MACHACEK is currently in-custody in the Hennepin County Jail.
