Lao Vang

On December 19, 2025, at approximately 10:30 P.M., Minnesota State Troopers were conducting a traffic event investigation on I-94 and Franklin in Hennepin County, Minnesota, when one of their lighted parked squad vehicles was struck by another traveling vehicle. Officers came into contact with the driver of the other vehicle, identified as Lao Vang, hereafter defendant, and observed the odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from his breath as he spoke. He admitted to striking the parked squad car and to consuming an alcoholic beverage prior to driving and submitted to a PBT, with a result of.10. The defendant was transported to a local hospital where his blood was drawn and subsequently sent to the BCA for analysis.

Results are pending. In the defendant's vehicle were two other passengers. The backseat passenger, R. P. N. Suffered a broken leg as a result of the traffic crash. The State is seeking a warrant for the defendant's arrest.
