Probable Cause
On March 1, 2026, Hennepin County Sheriff's Office responded to an inmate possessing controlled substances in the Hennepin County jail. NICHOLAS CONRAD TURTLE, Defendant herein, was in the Hennepin County jail on a probable cause hold for controlled substance possession. The Defendant was searched, changed into a jail uniform, fingerprinted, and then pat searched post booking in the intake area of the jail. The Defendant was then going to go to housing. During the final pat search, the Defendant lifted each foot for the deputy to search his jail issued socks and pants.
When the Defendant set his right foot down, a small bindle of suspected controlled substances fell out of his pant leg onto the floor. The bindle weighed 1.52 grams and FTP for fentanyl and cocaine. The Defendant has since been released from custody.
