On December 22, 2025, at 2048 hours, Maplewood police officers responded to the 1800 block of Furness, Maplewood, Ramsey County, on a report of a domestic. LBY, [DOB REDACTED], met police outside of the apartment building. She said that her husband, Charlee Thao, [DOB REDACTED], struck her and threatened to kill her. They had family visiting. Their shared child was crying while the visitors were in the residence. After the family left, Thao yelled at her blaming her for the baby’s crying. He pushed her on the shoulders and hit her in the chest with a closed fist, but not very hard.
She said that she was going to call police. Thao said, “Go ahead then, I will kill you right now.” She left the apartment out of fear. She said there is a pistol in the house and Thao had been drinking which makes him aggressive. Officers spoke to Thao at the scene. He said that LBY accused him of being a bad father which upset him. He said that they shoved each other. When asked if he threatened to kill LBY, he said, “Some things were said.” Officers arrested Thao. He declined a more thorough post-Miranda interview.
