On December 26, 2025, at approximately 8:32 P.M., a deputy with the Chisago County Sheriff's Office was driving northbound on Apple Ave. Near the intersection of Apple Ave. And North Lake Dr. When he observed a silver Chevy Silverado in the ditch on the east side of the road. The deputy made contact with the driver of the vehicle, identified as RYAN JOHN RYSDAM, [DOB REDACTED] ("the Defendant"). The deputy detected an odor of marijuana emanating from inside the vehicle, and the deputy asked the occupants if there was any marijuana inside the vehicle.
One of the occupants stated that she did have a little bit of marijuana and pulled out a small glass jar that was clearly not sealed and was not the original dispensary container, within which was located a green vegetable substance. The deputy then conducted a search of the motor vehicle. The deputy searched the center console of the vehicle, and found therein a plastic baggy containing a white crystalline substance which the deputy recognized to be methamphetamine. When asked, the Defendant admitted that the methamphetamine in the center console was his.
The deputy subsequently weighed and field-tested the substance. It was discovered to weigh 7.9 grams and did test positive for methamphetamine.
