On November 21, 2025, at approximately 11:50 A.M., officers of the Metro Transit Police Department and the Bloomington Police Department, were alerted to reports of an assault occurring onboard a Metro Transit vehicle at the Mall of America Transit Center, city of Bloomington, Hennepin County, Minnesota. Officers contacted the transit operator (VICTIM) who stated that while operating the 538 bus, an altercation occurred between him and two passengers when VICTIM asked them to exit the bus due to their behavior.

One of the passengers, later identified as JOHN LEE HENDERSON [DOB REDACTED], DEFENDANT herein, escalated the altercation and pulled a knife from his pocket, opened the blade, then began to wield it in a threatening manner toward VICTIM. VICTIM was in fear that DEFENDANT would cause him bodily harm with the dangerous weapon. Officers apprehended the DEFENDANT and found upon his person a folding knife. DEFENDANT is presently in custody.
